INVITATION |
Dear colleagues and friends,
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the ninth Hong Kong Allergy Convention which will be held on 8th to 9th October 2016 in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong.
The theme is ‘Novel Strategies for Prevention and Treatment of Allergic Disorders.’ Since the first meeting held in Hong Kong nearly two decades ago, this biennial Convention has become a highlight in the conference calendar locally, regionally and internationally. In the past participants from a broad representation of many disciplines have enjoyed the meeting. These have included not only allergists and clinicians from related specialties, but also allied health professionals including nurses, dietitians, pharmacists and laboratory staff; general practitioners; research scientists; students; and even some lay people.
This year the Convention is even more special as it is the centre piece of our celebrations for the 20th Anniversary of the founding of the Hong Kong Institute of Allergy. On this occasion the festival of science will be truly international as the Hong Kong Institute of Allergy will be collaborating and co-organising the Convention with the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI); European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI); and the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI).
The programme committee chaired by Professor Gary Wong has been working tirelessly and has invited a faculty of distinguished local and international speakers. They will deliver state-of-the-art lectures in exciting areas of fundamental and applied science as well as teaching on new approaches to clinical practice in Allergy and Clinical immunology.
It will be a wonderful opportunity to hear about considerable ground breaking advances, whilst also enjoying meeting up socially with your friends and colleagues in the beautiful and vibrant city of Hong Kong. I do hope you can join us for a memorable Convention.
Dr. Tak LEE
President, Hong Kong Institute of Allergy
Chairman, Organizing Committee, The 9th Hong Kong Allergy Convention
